SSS Maternity Benefit Computation (Step by Step)
- Find your semester of contingency. It is the two consecutive quarters ending in the quarter of your delivery. Example: delivery in March 2026 → semester October 2025 – March 2026.
- Count back 12 months from the month before that semester. Example: October 2024 – September 2025.
- Add your six highest monthly salary credits in those 12 months (each counted up to ₱20,000).
- Divide by 180 to get your average daily salary credit (ADSC).
- Multiply the ADSC by the number of days: 105, 120 or 60.
Example: Six MSCs of ₱18,000 = ₱108,000 ÷ 180 = ₱600 ADSC × 105 days = ₱63,000.
Who Qualifies for the SSS Maternity Benefit?
- Any female SSS member — employed, self-employed, voluntary, OFW or non-working spouse.
- At least 3 monthly contributions paid within the 12-month period before the semester of contingency. Contributions paid during or after the semester do not count for that claim.
- Granted for every pregnancy, regardless of civil status or how many times you have given birth. Twins or triplets count as one delivery.
Maternity Benefit for Voluntary, Self-Employed and OFW Members
Voluntary, self-employed, OFW and non-working spouse members notify SSS directly through My.SSS, the SSS Mobile App or a self-service terminal, and SSS pays the benefit to their enrolled disbursement account. Make sure your contributions for the qualifying period are paid on time — use our voluntary contribution calculator, self-employed guide or OFW contribution page, and generate a PRN to pay.
Maternity Benefit for Employed Members (Salary Differential)
Employed members notify their employer, who files the maternity notification with SSS. The employer advances the full benefit within 30 days of the leave application and is reimbursed by SSS. Under the Expanded Maternity Leave Law (RA 11210), most employers must also pay the salary differential — the difference between the SSS benefit and your full salary for the leave period. Some small and distressed businesses are exempt.
